This book has me feeling many different things. I could not put the book down and finished in 6 hours, now getting ready to dive into book 2. There is definitely no HEA, and I read reviews so I warned myself because I love my HEA’s! I have a feeling though that Ellen will get that, at least I can hope.
Let’s talk about our heroine Ellen. She reminds me of Cinderella but not with happing ending and a lot of abuse. Her mother is married to the mafia Robert Sr., who has an older son from a previous marriage, Robert. Ellen’s father is unknown and we don’t know the story of her Mother, Marnie and how she conceived Ellen. Ellen has an older half sister, Briar, who is Marnie’s and Robert Sr. daughter. Robert Sr. basically let Marnie keep Ellen but she’s more like an outcast, she’s kept where the servants live and her mother is not allowed to acknowledge her, she’s also basically her sisters keep, and companion but I feel that’s to nice of word to use. Marnie does die when the girls were young. Later we found out that Robert has a very dark side and physically marks Ellen. He was always protective of Ellen when she was a child, was that bc he was waiting until she became of age so he could keep her for himself?? There is a surprise twist there that I wasn’t expecting but I’m not going to give that away (wink). Ellen is kidnapped by Mischa and mistaken for her sister Briar. Our dear anti-hero Mischa is very abusive towards Ellen, but Ellen can take it. He wants information from her so his allowed her to live a little longer, but deep down he drawn to her, but I don’t think he understands why and it confuses him so he’ll lash out with her. But he has a story of his own and he had to suffer at the hands of the Winthrop’s, and he wants revenge and Ellen is his way out of the aggression he has deep inside.
Any-who I’m going to stop here and get started in book 2!
Review Book 2:
Little Rose
I have read book one and two in two days! I couldn’t put either book down and looking forward to reading the last book in the series. My review for book one is lengthy and I’ll leave this one short! I really hope that little Rose finds her Happy Ever After! She’s been through a lot that’s all I’m gonna say on this topic.
I won't spoil the book for anyone, but highly recommend it!

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. The King is ruthless and hates humans, all but a particular female human. Well he hates The Evil King
I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. The King is ruthless and hates humans, all but a particular female human. Well he hates Anna also, tbh. Buttttt he is drawn to her and he becomes obsessive over our dear Annalise. Now I wouldn’t really classify this as any kind of a romance bc Cyrus is very cruel. I was reading another review and they said this gave vibes of Quinn Blackbirds Black World Fae series, and I couldn’t agree more. As far as the Alpha males they are very similar. I just started on book 2, it’s not been published yet on Amazon, but the author has it on Patreon. ...more

This has been the best read of the year, and although the year isn't up yet, I think it will be hard to beat this book. I've read the reviews and stayed clear of this book for a while because I saw it was to be an RH, and that's not my thing to read, but let me tell you I'm so glad I read this and I actually could not put this book down! I have to say the author is a great writer and she keeps you interested, there are no unnecessary filling words, and there has been a couple of authors that I can say that about and I so appreciate them. This type of writing style keeps you invested and now that I got to know each of FMC’s bonds, I don't mind at all that it's an RH. I'm hoping Book 2 will have some smut, but even though this book didn't have but one intimate moment it was still a great read! I highly recommend the book! ...more

All things considered this book was absorbing, with twists, suspense, horror, murder and lastly a deliciously slow burn emotional connection between the two main characters. This author did a marvelous world build of the story and she did not sugar coat any details and the character relationships was fitting. The story is about Ava, who was sent to live with her grandparents at a young age, due to the fact her parents were divorced and indeed selfish. After Ava’s grandfather passed, she endured abuse by her gran, who was overly religious and compared her to her mother which her gran despised deeply. “And when you let that boy kiss you, Ava, you were on the path to hell. The very place your mother will end up. You’re lucky I saved you when I beat that demon out of you. Without me, you’d still be disgraced in the eyes of our Lord.” Soon after her 16th birthday the still new Father Aaron of the Catholic Church, kidnaps her and from there his sinister motives become clear and wow what a true psychopath he was. “I knew you were the one when I saw you. Your virtue called to me. You will serve me, Ava, and give yourself to me. It’s why God put you in my path.” Soon after her kidnapping she is thrown into a room with Callum, who is instructed to teach her obedience. Callum is gentle with her, and tries to avoid her, but he has no say so in what Father Aaron instructs him to do as he gets punished quite often. Callum is another victim of Father Aaron, it has been instilled into him that he is an abomination and is weak. From there the emotional connection between him and Ava build, she opens her heart to him and listens to all the things he has endured and lets him know he is worthy of love, they soon find out that they cannot resist each other which is forbidden and that could but a death sentence on Ava. The relationship build between them were beautifully written. “If your sadness looks that beautiful, then I can’t imagine what happiness looks like.”...more
