I definitely think this series is getting better and better the further we get along in the books. This story was rather interesting mostly because the mystery took place at home. Anna and Charles did not have to travel far from home for this mystery. There are wolves in the pack that are so wild they cannot live really very close to the pack, but unfortunately somebody is trying to kill them. Charles and Anna have tried to rescue one of these wild wolves, but unfortunately, they were too late, but the mystery did not really begin until they started visiting all these wild wolves to let them know that somebody was after them. There was definitely a lot of action in this book. It seemed like it was almost nonstop. Anna is definitely learning more about her omega powers, and how to use them. I will definitely be reading the next book in the series. I listen to this book on audible and I think that even though it was the same narrator as previous books in this series, he is getting a bit better....more
I really do like these books with Charles and Anna. The person that Charles is buying a horse from is one of his very good friends that is dying from cancer. Unfortunately, Charles did not know this because he stayed away too long. Unfortunately, Charles and Anna seem to find problems wherever they go. Charles is friend. Grandchildren was attacked by the fay, and now Charles and Anna are trying to figure out who the Faye was that attacked them. It did get a little confusing sometimes when it would jump between people. I thought this story had a good mystery to it, but it was sad at the end. You know when it’s written well when the sad parts can jerk tears. I will definitely read the next book in the series. I was not very fond of this narrator. Sometimes it was a little bit difficult to understand him, and then when he would try to do different voices for different people sometimes it made it even worse....more

I thought this book was definitely better than the first one in the series. In this book, Morgan is learning more about her powers and how to use them. She is also learning more about the people that she has been taken to and that her guard in the first book, was not just a guard, but a prince. She makes some interesting friends in this book and ends up having to insert herself into trial for the emperor. I did not really like how this book ended. Morgan finds out that she has a lot of suppressed memories and that her brother is really ruining the kingdom that she came from. I’m not sure if I’m gonna read the next book in the series or not....more

In the mercy Thompson series, Charles is portrayed as the bogeyman of the werewolves, but he isn’t quite as bad in this book. We also learned a little bit more about the leader of the werewolves in this book. I will definitely read the next book in this series and hopefully they’ll get better. It caused her pain, but yet that is how her family members would punish her. Instead of sticking up for herself and getting away from them when they were doing that to her since she was an adult, she just let them do it to her. Apparently she needed to have a man rescue her and that is another reason I didn’t necessarily like this book. It was definitely a cliché that she ended up dating a man literally on the wrong side of town. Apparently Roman was a black witch, and Josephine was a white witch, and those two were not supposed to be together. I did like the ending of this book, but I’m not sure if I’m going to read the next book in this series. I might try it just to see if they get better....more

When Tessa rescued herself and family, they made their way back into the mists and she was reunited with the missed King. I could see the slow burn of romance between these two characters and I was wondering when they were finally going to come together and either have sex or something like that. Tessa learned more about her father and herself in this book. The ending of this book was rather interesting, but it was good. I’ll definitely be reading the next book in this series. When I first started reading this book, I wasn’t sure if I was going to finish it. It was very slow and obnoxious. All the reference to comic book stuff was very irritating It also reminded me of the movie guardians of the Galaxy. I was wondering if they author Had seen the movie and was pulling stuff out of there for this book. She had a very interesting name for the heroine in this book Astra Nomical. I thought that was a little ridiculous. There were definitely some good parts in this book. Once they stop blabbing all the time and actually started doing things made it more interesting. This is definitely an enemy to romance book because Astra does not get along with the head of her team, but yet they end up having sex and Astra can’t just leave it at one. Apparently she’s shooting for all four on her team. You would think that that would make it awkward for them to work together after they’ve had sex together. I’m not sure whether I’m going to read the next book in this series or not especially because, it seems like every time you turn a page in this book they are practically comparing everything to comic book characters, which does get annoying....more
