Being his first novel, Andy Weir managed to surprise us with a suspenseful story with plenty of good humor and a drama background.
Even if he uses some similarities to the TV series MacGyver(sorry for that analogy), the main character manages to be convinced, showing his many skills in a very critical situation - being left behind by his tribulation and living alone in Mars for almost 2 years.
