I'll confess, I hated this book so much when we had to read in high school, that I actually bought the cliff notes for it so I could pass the test... it's rare for me to not finish a book, so this one always stands out as one of the worst books I had to endure.

Nicole Heidi,

I couldn't agree with you more. My teacher actually spared us the suffering and only made us read the first dozen (or so chapters) which I somewhat LIKED. Then, much later in life, when it came time to sit for my MA exams I had to chug through the whole thing. Horridly stressful experience. I love American Literature...but mainly AFTER 1900.

Federico DN Enforced reading can do that! But even still as an adult so... :p

Heidi Sadly Federico, I tried to reread it about 8-10 years ago… it was still a big nope for me. Dare I say, it’s too much of a boy’s book— and this from someone who enjoys adventure tales!
