Jill Heather I'm fairly sure I was not going to read a series about football players anyhow, but did I miss something about this book? As a rule, I agree with your reviews.

Wendy Darling The author went off on a reviewer the other day, posting at least 5 comments on a 3-star review that satirized the way the book used stereotypes.

She's since deleted her comments--including the first one, which said that authors should not be bullied in that way--but you can read the very long comment thread here: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Jill Heather Ah, I missed that particular dustup. There are so many, it's hard to keep track.

Nina Uh oh, seriously? I love Simone Elkeles. But I just read what happened there. I hate it when that happens. It's like reviewers are not fully entitled to write whatever they wanted. *sigh*

nick (the infinite limits of love) Hi Wendy! I was just wondering, why did you mark this book as "will-never-read"?
Was this author involved in something that I don't know of?

Wendy Darling Hey Nick--see comment #2.

nick (the infinite limits of love) Oh sorry! When I commented there didn't seem to be any comments on the GR page of the book!
Thank you though! :)

Wendy Darling No problem at all. An for what it's worth, the author did end up deleting her comments.

Bethany Wendy, how do you determine "will never read" haha

Wendy Darling It's actually not funny. My "will never read" shelf is mostly filled with books by authors who have gone out of their way to attack reviewers. I'd suggest reading comments if you're curious.

Bethany Oh my gosh! I totally thought it was something different... like, you hated the first page. Thanks for the head's up.
