Gawd I effing hated this book, right up until the moment I realized I kind of loved it.
I didn't even want to read it (so. much. hype., and I'm cool like that) but TOR was offering it up for free so there it was sitting on my ereader...and here we are.
Impossible even to describe both its irksomeness and its strong appeal, Gideon... earns a spot as one of those books that is just its own unique experience. That's all I've got.
Strange magic, this. Well done, Muir.

Same exact thing for me. It took me a few weeks to get through the first third of this story, and I even had a draft of a very scathing review all ready - and then I fell in love with it.
Great review Michelle! Wow, this does seem to be a very unique book haha! Glad you ended up enjoying it, despite hating it at the same time! :)

Maybe you actually DO hate the book but it is imbued with strange hypnotic words that make the reader give it 4 or 5 stars. Or maybe it's late and I'm shickered.
