Given my strongly unhappy reaction to this book I plan to read it again soon because anything that bothers me this much is probably not done with me yet.

A tired setup sets the bar very high for me re: writing and story."

Emmkay Oh, no - and here I’ve just gone and bought it for my spouse for Christmas! Maybe a backup book is in order…

Kip Kyburz I am kinda surprised you feel this way about this book. Not because you disliked it which bothers me not even a little, but your reasoning surprises me. It felt so unique to me, i saw your earlier comment about bureaucratic afterlife and while that was not wholly original, it shifted very quickly away from this setting in my opinion. I am curious the books you feels its so similar to because i would love to check them out.

Kip, every sentence made me irritable. To tell the truth sometimes when I have such a strong negative reaction it just means I need to try again now that I’ve familiarized myself with a given author’s way of communicating. I’m going to delete my gut-reaction review and try again. Probably not right away.

Kip Kyburz Ha! I certainly understand that feeling completely.

Audra I've been following your reading of this! I'm actually really enjoying it even though the premise isn't original.
