What a beautiful story. And such stunning narration as well. I am certain I would have never been as moved and touched by this story if it weren’t for the fact that I listened to it on audio, so I would recommend anyone else to do the same.
The main narrator has a beautifully rich and emotive voice that swept me away, and the boy who plays The Little Prince sounded exactly as sweet and innocent as his character. It was lovely.

This story is about a man who gets stranded in the desert where he meets a little boy who fell out of the sky. This Little Prince tells the man the story of his home planet and of all the people and animals he’s met on his travels.
It is through these stories that many life lessons are taught: It uses metaphors to give insight into the way people live their lives and what’s wrong or right about that. More importantly, it shows the power and importance of love and hope, which is something so many adults have lost in their purest form.

The ending was extremely melancholic and I have to admit to pinking away a tear or two.

lila ⋆ ahh i remember reading this when i was younger? but your review makes it sound soo good, i'll probably have to check out the audio version as well! i honestly don't remember it being heartbreaking before, so i probably do have to refresh my memory lol. great review! <3

Imme van Gorp @Summer — Yess, it’s one of those stories that are so fun for children but get a much deeper meaning as an adult!
With regards to it being heartbreaking; I suppose there are many ways to interpret this story and also its ending, but for me it seemed like the ending was that [SPOILER]: The Little Prince committed suicide to be reunited with his flower, and for him to always be able to keep the pure and untainted love he feels for her. So that definitely resulted in an assault of tears for me😭😅

Kati *☆・゚ [a bit distracted atm] aw how sweet! I remember that from when I was a child. I find it intriguing that you said to Summer that it get's deeper meaning when experiencing it as an adult. Well I guess I'll find out when I read it to my kids one day. Wonderful review, Imme 😘

Imme van Gorp @Kati — Aww that’s so cute!🥰 I hope your kids will love it when you read it to them, and that you will love it too now that you’d read it with an adult-lens!😌

Mai The cutest classic

Imme van Gorp @CC — I’ve never seen the movie, but I might watch it someday too! This was surely such a stunning story, and I’m curious what it would all look like on film😌

Imme van Gorp @Cara — Thank you😘

Imme van Gorp @Mai — yesss, definitely the cutest🥰🥰

Vanna (on-hiatus) Great review Imme! ❤️ Sounds interesting but think will have to pass due to the melancholy

message 12: by Imme (new) - rated it 4 stars

Imme van Gorp @Vanna — It was lovely! Don’t let the melancholy scare you away; it’s done in a beautiful and hopeful kind of way. But I get it’s not for everyone of course ;) x

Lau (semi-hiatus) ♡ Someday I'll read this book 🤣🤣

Glad you enjoyed it, Imme! I've read so many great things about this but I'm so reticent to try classics 🙈

message 14: by Imme (new) - rated it 4 stars

Imme van Gorp @Lau — hahah it’s not a classic like some classics are; this was an easy yet beautiful read. No need to fear it’ll be stuffy or something ;) x I think you’ll probably be okay to try it hahah. I’m totally the same as you when it comes to classics and I thought it was really nice. I would truly recommend the audio version though because it brings it to life much better😌

Lau (semi-hiatus) ♡ @Imme I'll trust you and read it soon then! I may read the book in spanish though, since it's originally in French and the translation is probably more similar to the original text in spanish 🤔

message 16: by Imme (new) - rated it 4 stars

Imme van Gorp @Lau — Ow? I didn’t know French and Italian were similar! Are they part of the same Linguistic family?
I was personally also debating whether I wanted to read it in Dutch (my first language) or English because it’s gonna be a translation either way, but then I came across this audio and the decision was made for me ;) haha
Anyway, I’m looking forward to hearing what you’ll think of it if u decide to give it a go❤️

Mila (Semi-Hiatus) Wonderful review as always love!😘 I remember seeing this book on the classic lists somewhere but idk I feel like I will shed a tear or two lol maybe someday?

message 18: by Imme (new) - rated it 4 stars

Imme van Gorp @Mila — Yess it’s a classic but also absolutely stunning, and if you’re open to let the feelings of it in, it definitely might lead you to a couple tears🥲

Federico DN One of the best classics ever! That tearful ending sure broke my heart as well. Wonderful review Imme! Glad you loved it too :D

message 20: by Imme (new) - rated it 4 stars

Imme van Gorp @Federico — I’m glad to hear you thought so too❤️❤️ Thank you x

A Mac Oh, always lovely when a children's book can make your eyes get a little watery, though I have to admit I've never read this one before! Maybe I will if I ever feel like crying a little. Wonderful review, Imme ❤️

message 22: by Imme (new) - rated it 4 stars

Imme van Gorp @A Mac — Yess, I love it when a children’s book is written in a way that there’s an underlying meaning for adults😌 It had such a cute and heartwarming vibe but it was also like genuinely good?!?? Definitely save if for when you want to have a bit of a cry haha. Thank you💗

Nazanin Fantastic review, Imme! 💜

message 24: by Imme (new) - rated it 4 stars

Imme van Gorp @Nazanin — thanks😘

wilted flower i remember wondering how on earth this book was meant for children once i'd finished. it broke my heart to be honest, i still feel blue when i think of it (but i love it of course, how could i not?)

message 26: by Imme (new) - rated it 4 stars

Imme van Gorp @wilted — no but fr?? this ain’t a children’s story😭🤣 although I guess it’s written in a veiled way that won’t make the sad meaning apparent to younger kids🤔

C. (Comment, never msg). Actually, I am a paper book ready only and loved this story. For me too, it is unforgettable, read it in print the way it was made.

message 28: by Imme (new) - rated it 4 stars

Imme van Gorp @C. — ah, that’s nice! I almost never listen to audio, but I’m really glad I did here because it was so perfect❤️ I’m glad it was a beautiful story on print only too :)
