This was such a cute and sweet read. I really liked Russ and Aurora together and the way they unconditionally accept each other is so beautiful.
Russ Callahan and Aurora Roberts meets at a college party at Russ's house. They really like the glimpses they get about each other's personalities and they also have a instant physical attraction. This leads them to have a one night stand because they think that they will never see each other again.
What they don't know is that they're both going to be camp counselors at a summer camp, Honey Acres.
So Russ and Aurora head separately to this camp and they are shocked to see each other there. They agree to become friends because camp counselors are not allowed to be in a personal and physical relationship. But despite they are still drawn to each other and they also start opening up to each other about their difficult and complicated relationships with their families, especially their dads. They eventually get to the point they no longer can ignore their chemistry and feelings for each other. This leads Russ and Aurora to start their relationship. Both of them have their insecurities about themselves, and whether they can be loved because of their families but they really like each other and want to make their relationship work. I really liked how cute and sweet this book was. The found family between the main and side characters was also so beautiful. I did however prefer Icebreaker to this one as I did get bored at times. This was because there wasn't much going on for most of the book, and I also preferred Nate and Stassie as a couple. However this was still a great read and I recommend it if you want to read a sweet and beautiful romance.
Characters
Russ: He's so sweet to everyone especially Aurora. It was so cute how he would blush whenever Rory (Aurora) would flirt with her. Russ however is a complicated character because of his strained and difficult relationship with his dad, which affects his relationship with the rest of his family. Rory sees this and she just wants to open to more than he is.
Aurora (Rory): She's a quite confident woman despite her hurt over her pretty much non existent relationship with her dad, who pays much more attention to his partner's daughter than her. Aurora is really sweet and caring to Russ like he is with her, and I loved seeing this. However I didn't connect with her as much as I did with Russ.
Final thoughts
I really liked this book and I'm looking forward to finally reading Henry's book next year after it comes out.
