No Two Persons

I was turned off by the writing style of No Two Persons as I started reading. It felt a bit...twee. Was I going to be told how to feel? Gradually, my resistance wore down until I become enraptured. The power of these stories built and expanded and I found myself relating to each of them. I adored Madeline's story (The Agent) and the ending.

I had the same reaction as you did. At first, the author's style seemed too facile to me, but kept reading. The book won me over.
