Patty | 3624 comments I was trying to reach 130 books before midnight. Didn’t make it. For the first time in years, I’ve become sick with some respiratory thing. Damn.

I’m enjoying Where the Dark Streets Go by Dorothy Salisbury Davis. What a great book to start the year with.

Drew K (goodreadscomdrew_k) The Dark Heart A True Story of Greed, Murder, and an Unlikely Investigator by Joakim Palmkvist The Dark Heart: A True Story of Greed, Murder, and an Unlikely Investigator Starting the year with a little true crime. It's a good book, but not one I'd call riveting at this point (40% completed).

In this 11th book in the 'Walt Longmire' series, Sheriff Longmire looks into the death of an elderly Indian while other people wrangle over a valuable fossil. The book can be read as a standalone but familiarity with the characters is a plus. Good story. 3 stars

message 50: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Michael | 674 comments Library stop yesterday to pick up the latest Sheriff Longmire book by Craig Johnson. Sorry to say it is no improvement over the previous book. Hate it when one of my favorite series starts going downhill. I've gone from "must pre-order so I have the newest one the minute it's available" to "okay, I'll try one more time if the library has it". I still cannot praise the first half dozen Sheriff Longmire books by Craig Johnson enough ... they are wonderful and I re-read them often. The next to last book left a bad taste in my mouth ... a cliffhanger ending, which I hate ... and the current one reads like the author was trying to write for a Rambo type TV episode. I ended up just skimming the last half of the book.
