The fact that all the characters finally got to interact in this book just made reading it so much more fun.

Shallan was kinda "eh" for me in the last book, but she truly came into her own in this one and I was here for every minute of it. I loved that we got to see the evolution from her pretending to be confident to it basically just becoming second nature to her. I honestly think I need to start living my own life by asking "WWJD" (What would Jasnah do) because it really seemed to transform Shallan into the bad ass I hoped she would become.

I still love Kaladin with every fiber of my being. The way his compassion for his men drives everything he does makes him such a wonderful character to root for. He is at the core of all my favorite scenes in this book. All of his chapters with him and Shallan snarking back and forth at one another were iconic, him training his Surgebinding with Bridge Four was hilarious, and watching the development of his relationship with Adolin was so satisfying. I am crossing my fingers for both a Kaladin/Shallan enemies-to-lovers development and an Adolin/Kaladin bromance in the next book. I realize these two things are likely mutually exclusive but I choose to maintain my hope nonetheless. I am just so attached to Kaladin and all of Bridge Four and they really got to shine in this book.
