I was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. I joined the Air Force, and my career took me from coast to coast before depositing me in the St. Louis, Missouri area for several years. After a tour in Korea and a short return to the St. Louis area, I retired and moved to the greater Denver, Colorado metropolitan area.
I write speculative fiction, mostly science fiction and fantasy. My favorite writers over the years have been Robert E. Howard, Philip K. Dick, Roger Zelazny, and Michael Crichton.

That's a great question.

I don't get to read anywhere near as much as I'd like or should. I might be able to read an average book in six to eight weeks. I just finished one ("Hell's Encore" by John L. Monk) in record time (for me), which says something about the writer. That's the downside to working full time and trying to have a writing career.(less)

Monk's Hell's Encore right now and loving it! After that, I'm heading back to finish Amy J. Murphy's first in the Allies and Enemies series, Fallen. I'll finish summer off with Heather Herrman's Consumption or Sarah Gailey's River of Teeth.(less)

Burning Sands

I've launched the Burning Sands post-apocalyptic trilogy, with Beneath Burning Sands (also here).

Beneath Burning Sands is a SF suspense-thriller. As much as I love zombies, there aren't any. Also, the protagonist isn't a big, burly man armed to the teeth with assault weapons and an almost psychotic patriotic zeal. I hope you'll give it a try.

I loved post-apocalyptic fiction back when it was mor Read more of this blog post »

I’m already missing the old team.” The road was still deserted. A line of amber lamps lit a towering wall that sealed off a maze of sagging, scarred apartment buildings to the southwest. To the northeast, the wall transformed into a security tunnel and disappeared under a sickly forest. Inside the complex, a dozen uniformed”
