Filmmaker Amar Kaushik's latest project, Stree 2, is off to a great start, earning over Rs 275 crore at the box office in its first week, according to NDTV. The horror comedy features Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana, who reprise their roles in the sequel to the 2018 movie.
Stree 2 takes us back to Chanderi, a small village that is now free from the terror of a vengeful female spirit named Stree, who used to attack men. However, in the sequel, the village faces a new challenge in the form of Sarkata, a more malevolent, headless and evil entity who attacks and abducts progressive at night. After protecting the villagers from Stree, Vicky and his group of close friends – Rudra, Jana, and Bittu – embark on a new mission to save the people of Chanderi from the new monster.
Apart from the ensemble cast, Stree 2 also features cameo appearances from Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, and Tamannaah Bhatia. However, it was Abhishek Banerjee who stole the show with his impressive portrayal of the character Jana. He also played this character in Bhediya, another hit film in the Maddock Supernatural Universe. Abhishek Banerjee lives in a spacious 3-BHK home with his wife, Tina Noronha, and their pet cat, Kiwi. The couple have converted one of the rooms into an office space, while another one has been turned into a guest room with minimalistic yet beautiful interiors. They opted for white and lighter hues for their home, and decorated it with exquisite artwork, well-sculpted furniture, indoor plants, simple textures, and accented pieces collected from their travels.
Abhishek Banerjee and his partner Tina Noronha have thoughtfully designed each room in their Mumbai home. They have adorned their balconies with plants, while the living room features a tasteful collection of handpicked artwork, including Games of Thrones and Harry Potter-themed wine glasses from Croatia. According to Free Press Journal, Abhishek Banerjee, who reprised his role of Jana in the fourth movie of the Maddock Supernatural Universe, received a pay cheque of Rs 70 lakhs for his performance.
Apart from Stree 2, Abhishek Banerjee has also played Jitendar Pratap Singh (the main antagonist) in Nikkhil Advani's action thriller Vedaa, which also released on Independence Day (August 15) and stars John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh in lead roles. Banerjee has also featured in a couple of popular OTT shows such as Mirzapur, Paatal Lok, and Rana Naidu, among others.
