According to an interview in Deccan Chronicle, Axar Patel was born Akshar Rajeshbhai Patel on 20 January 1994, but the nurse accidentally misspelt his name. The 30-year-old cricketer lives in an impressive bungalow in Nadiad—about 60 kilometres from Ahmedabad—with his family, which includes his parents, Rajeshbhai and Priety Patel, and his wife Meha, a dietician and nutritionist. According to CA Knowledge and Sportskeeda, the bowling all-rounder has also invested in a number of properties across the country.

Expensive cars

Patel seems to be on the brink of growing his expensive car collection, which already houses a Mercedes SUV (typically over Rs 1 crore) and a Landrover Discovery (Rs 67 lakhs approximately).

IPL salary

The cricketer’s IPL stint kicked off in 2013 when Mumbai Indians selected him for Rs 10 lakh. After that, he switched to Punjab Kings in 2014 for Rs 75 lakh and became the second-highest wicket-taker that season. This made him be retained by the franchise for a hefty sum of Rs 6.75 crore in 2018, Sportskeeda reports.

In 2019, Patel moved to Delhi Capitals for Rs 5 crore, where he was retained for Rs 9 crore in 2022. In 2024, his IPL salary from Delhi Capitals will also be Rs 9 crore.

Adding up his IPL salaries over the years, Patel earned Rs 51.85 crore from the tournament.

BCCI contract

Patel has a ‘Grade B’ contract with the BCCI, the same as Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, and Kuldeep Yadav, which fetches him an annual salary of Rs 3 crore, according to Sportskeeda and CA Knowledge. His per-match fees (for playing on the ground) include Rs 15 lakh for a test match, Rs 6 lakh for an ODI, and Rs 3 lakh for a T20I match.

Patel has an impressive brand portfolio, including companies like SG Cricket, boAt, CoinSwitch, JSW Sports, Cricuru, GamToss, Kuber, Apollo, FanCode, Jio, and Ebix Cash. According to CA Knowledge, he reportedly charges Rs 1 crore for each endorsement.
