Plums

Our signature juicy plums are in season! Known for their exceptionally sweet, red flesh, this classic summer fruit is picked and packed by hand, so they arrive in prime condition. Enjoy them fresh, in jams, or baked into delicious sauces and desserts. Additionally, members of our Signature and Light Fruit Clubs will be receiving Black Kat plums shipped directly from the orchard in California. Black Kat plums get their name from their intensely dark purple skin and high sugar levels. They are an interspecific plum which means that they also have some apricot parentage (which is why they are so sweet).

NOW HAPPENING IN THE ORCHARDS

Have you heard the big news? We are now harvesting our premium Royal Riviera® Pears. To develop the high levels of sugar and juices that set Royal Riviera® Pears apart from other pears, they must be kept in cold storage for a minimum of 30 days.

HARVEST INFORMATION

Pears

We are shipping Angélys pears grown in New Zealand, d’Anjou pears grown in Argentina and New Zealand, and Bartlett pears grown in California. Although we have begun harvesting our Royal Riviera® Pears, they need time at controlled temperatures to fully develop sugars, so they will not ship until late September.

Stone Fruit

As mentioned, our Signature and Light Fruit Club members will be receiving Black Kat plums shipped directly from the orchard in California. Early in the month, we will also ship Oregold® Peaches from our own orchards, plus nectarines grown in California and peaches grown in Washington.

Apples

We are currently shipping Smitten apples grown in New Zealand and Cosmic Crisp and Envy apples grown in Washington. Later in September we will also ship Smitten apples grown in Washington.

Citrus

We will be shipping HoneyBells grown in Peru.

Specialty Vegetables

Our featured vegetable for September is a medley of colorful carrots grown by The Chef’s Garden. We are proud to partner with The Chef’s Garden and offer a selection of sustainably grown, restaurant-quality gourmet vegetables, including petite greens with edible flowers and boxes of restaurant-quality mixed vegetables. We will also ship white asparagus grown in Peru, avocados grown in Mexico, and shiitake mushrooms grown in California.
