A 54-year-old Woodbridge man is dead and two people are behind bars after a Saturday afternoon shooting at a Woodbridge car wash.
The shooting happened about 3:50 p.m. at the Sonic Soft Car Wash at 14109 Richmond Highway.
Police say the victim, 54-year-old Earl Duwan Miller, and another man were involved in an argument outside Sonic Soft Car Wash at 14109 Richmond Highway about 3:50 p.m. and then briefly separated before the altercation turned physical.
The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Jermaine Antwoine Lewis of Springfield, is accused of brandishing a firearm and shooting Miller in the upper body, said Prince William County police Master Officer Renee Carr.
A female acquaintance who was with the shooter also brandished a firearm, Carr said.
After the shooting, the suspects fled in their vehicle and were apprehended by Virginia State Police along Interstate 95 in Fairfax County a short time later.
The victim was taken to an area hospital where he died, Carr said.
One exterior wall of a building was struck by gunfire. No additional injuries or property damage were reported.
Police charged Lewis, of the 6300 block of Stagg Court in Springfield, with second-degree murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and shooting from an occupied vehicle, Carr said. He was held without bond at the Prince William-Manassas regional jail.
Vinisha Lanisa Neville, 29, of the 13000 block of Kitty Hawk Way in Woodbridge, was charged with brandishing a firearm. Her bond information was not available.
Police did not release mugshots of either suspect.
