Is transition assistance available? Yes. I fully anticipate that any attorney or firm that would like to step into my practice will need assistance getting up to speed on all aspects of my cases from current litigation status, medical records, etc. We use Smokeball which greatly organizes all files. As a small practice, almost all my clients have had a long-standing relationship with the firm. I am not looking for a quick transfer of files but a longer transition to an attorney or firm that can manage not only the current files but continue to grow by taking advantage of an established firm that produces exciting cases that will last long into the future. I am also not expecting an attorney or firm to come in the door with a large check to buy out the practice. I want to ensure my clients are properly served and have a few large cases that are headed for trial right now. I fully anticipate and want to work together with new counsel on pending case files to serve my current client better and transition cases to new counsel as appropriate. There is a lot of room for flexibility depending on the circumstances.

Please provide any additional information you would like a prospective purchaser to know We use Smokeball as our case management software which allows for working remotely and motoring staff who can also work remotely. There are a few existing contracts for various services. The firm owns the website, the phone system, the computer server, all desktop computers, the copier (just purchased), and all furniture, etc. The office has a waiting room, 3 offices, and a large secretarial main office, a conference room, washroom, kitchen area, and basement for storage. I own the building that the firm leases on a triple net basis. It has been recently remodeled inside and out. It is located on a main street in the downtown area with 3 eliminated box signs facing the main street. The firm also owns a website that is over 15 years old and is under contract with a marketing company. The location, the website, and other advertising efforts produce ongoing client calls and cases that have produced the income stream that we have enjoyed for over 30 years. This firms offers an attorney or firm with the ability and determination to answer the phone, take on the cases, and manage the practice with the opportunity to enjoy years of income stream that far surpasses the paycheck associated with working at many large firms.
