Optimal Routing for Parking Enforcement Vehicles
The City of Raleigh has begun using trucks outfitted with License Plate Recognition (LPR) equipment to streamline parking enforcement. Finding optimal routes for the trucks to evenly and efficiently traverse three sections of city streets that have curbside parking has been a challenge, so the city partnered with an NC State Industrial Engineering class to work on solutions as a Senior class project. Dr. Andrew Taylor, a professor of Political Science in the School of Public and International Affairs at NC State University, is writing a book provisionally titled, "Our Equitable Democracy: American Politics and Economic Outcomes in an Age of Inequality." He contacted Data & Visualization Librarian Jeff Essic in May 2019 for assistance creating 16 maps, which will illustrate the effects of income inequality in politics.

The North Carolina Geospatial Data Archiving Project ran from October 2004 to February 2010. The joint project of the North Carolina State University Libraries and the North Carolina Center for Geographic Information and Analysis focused on collection and preservation of digital geospatial data resources from state and local government agencies in North Carolina.
