Fostering communities where people can thrive is built into Dairy Farmers of America's mission, which is why it came to no surprise that they wanted to play a direct role in helping us increase access to nutritious food. Yesterday, their staff worked together to pack 2,732 sack lunches through our Give Lunch program, which will be distributed to local libraries, healthcare organizations and other Food+ partners if they come across someone who needs assistance. Thank you so much for supporting us in several ways year-round! Learn more about this food drive and volunteer activity at https://bit.ly/4e69qEc.

Corbion sent 74 volunteers out to pack boxes for the upcoming Holiday season. They completed a whopping total of 5,799 boxes, or 43,677 lbs of food! Thanks for your hard work today, and for the $50,000 donation to our work in the community. Your partnership means the world!

The USDA released its annual report on national food insecurity today for 2023. 13.5% of US households were food insecure, up 0.7% from the previous year. Children were food insecure in 8.9% of households. Harvesters remains committed to serving our neighbors who are facing the harsh reality of hunger. Thanks to everyone who is with us in the fight.

Our CEO Stephen Davis was honored to speak at a recent meeting of the Leavenworth Lions Club at the Leavenworth Riverfront Community Center. Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members, and approximately 46,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world. You might not expect it, but the Leavenworth chapter is the largest Lions Club in the state of KS, and one of the largest Lions Clubs period. Thank you for hosting us, and for partnering with us to end hunger in Leavenworth County!

We have been on the receiving end of Hallmark Cards generosity for years and years. They just blew us away by designing and building a gorgeous installation for our new Kansas Distribution Center. It not only represents the Lawrence landscape and how the crops fuel the work we do, but also the legacy of The Reuter Organ Co. who previously built their custom pipe organs in what is now our space. A special thanks to Matt Kesler for so thoughtfully designing this piece. We will be enjoying your handiwork for years to come!

Citizens of the World Charter Schools - Kansas City is one of our school partners, offering both our BackSnack program and a school pantry to serve students and their families. Jessica Cox, the school social worker, does an incredible job connecting her students to the resources they need. The school also has an innovative way of involving students in their special education program with delivering BackSnacks to their peers.
