Phase III of the Fullerton Pike Reconstruction Project is underway. The project aims to provide east-west connectivity on the south side of Bloomington and ease traffic congestion on and off I-69. Included in Phase III will be the construction of the largest bridge in Monroe County. Yesterday, Mike McCory's crews and Jeff Livingston's crews finished setting 125-foot, 84-ton beams to prepare for the concrete pour. 👏💪🚧 #BridgeLife #BloomingtonConstruction

The Milestone Columbus Safety Committee wanted to spend some time this year focusing on giving back to our local community. One idea the group came up with was hosting a “Hydration Station”. The goal was to educate the public about the danger and warning signs of heat exhaustion. Cera Sports Park is right in the Milestone Columbus office’s backyard and seemed like a great place to set up the station. The committee passed out bottled waters, cooling towels, electrolyte packets and Milestone swag on a weekend tournament. Their presence was very well accepted by the baseball/softball parents especially on the Saturday where the temperature was over 90 degrees! 😎☀️ The committee is planning to host more Hydration Stations in the community next year! Way to go team!

Yet another busy and productive week has passed for the 2024 cohort. This week was we engaged in various networking events, personalized 1:1 sessions, and enriching workshops. Find out all we accomplished below.⬇ Monday On Monday, we were reminded of the invaluable benefit THG Accelerator offers through our tailored programming, which is designed to match the needs of each company. Founders had LEAP 1:1 sessions, where they discussed their technology with HRG liaisons Andrea Moberly and Samantha Nobbe in the morning and received personalized pitch strategy guidance from Arvind Murthy in the afternoon. Tuesday Kip Frey and Ginger Rothrock facilitated a workshop on recruiting and managing a board, while members from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation joined us for a luncheon, and taught us why Indiana is a thriving environment for entrepreneurs. A special note of gratitude to CEO Amy Schumacher for extending a warm welcome to our cohort in the afternoon. Wednesday Matt Nettleton led a Sandler session on prospecting, offering insights about customer discovery for cohort members. Corey Baugh, P.E. hosted Damian Butters, Christopher Wacinski, and Mark McCollough for a tour of a Milestone Contractors LP hot-mix asphalt plant. Thursday Founder enjoyed a lunch with our EIR Mitch Black and they had a workshop about market research and strategy from Basil Merriman and Joe Froehle. The cohort took a little break and tried tasty bites at SAVOR at the Garage for dinner, special thanks to Larissa Kenney for facilitating. Friday Friday marked a day filled with vibrant conversations with industry experts and Accelerator partners from across the country. They participated in enriching round table discussions, and gained personalized knowledge and expertise. This month, we are thrilled to spotlight Terry Burris, who has dedicated three decades of his career to Milestone Contractors. Starting his career with us 30 years ago, Terry has worn many hats. His journey began as a laborer in which he brought previous concrete skills and knowledge. In his early days, Terry helped with the merging of companies Contractors United Inc., Astro Paving and Fauber Construction to what we know as Milestone Contractors today. Terry, thank you for leading numerous projects to completion, consistently delivering quality work, The Milestone Way, and exceeding our safety expectations. Milestone Young Professionals and Interns gathered at the Fowling Warehouse for some friendly competition and networking. It was a great way to end the summer and send our interns off to college this fall. Good luck this semester and thank you for all of your hard work this summer! 👏🏈😎

Today, #SafeZoneIN cameras are live in our I-70 Design Build Project in Hancock County, Indiana. The cameras document motorist who are driving 11 mph or more above the speed limit. A pre-enforcement warning period will take place for 30 days. When the grace period is over, first-time violators will be mailed a warning notice. Second-time offenders will receive a $75 civil penalty. Third-time violators and beyond will receive a $150 penalty each time. In 2023, 33 people were killed and more than 1,750 were injured in work zones. Speed continues to be a factor in many of those crashes that are high impact, involve injuries and fatalities. With the launch of this program, we can hold drivers accountable for slowing down when traveling in a work zone.
