How do you balance philanthropy and leadership?
Believe it or not — you’re not the first. You’re not the first leader to be challenged with hardships. Look around you for the mentors and leaders you aspire to be. Don’t be like them. Learn from them. And then be you. Read history; of leaders from our past for inspiration and common grounds. Since the first century AD — great men and women have endured much and left much for us to learn from. Marcus Aurelius displayed leadership qualities that offer insight and guidance for today and tomorrow. Get to know these leaders to understand what’s in your control.

How do you balance philanthropy and leadership?
The challenge is not balance. Balance implies equality. Equal parts leadership. Equal parts philanthropy. However leadership in philanthropy cannot be about balance because balance is inconsequential. Leaders find 👇 Rhythm. Harmony. Flow. Like anything else in nature — find your flow. Be it your orgs mission or your own perosnal mission. Ideally they mirror each other. Use that to lead with grace, focus, intentionality and grit 💪

How do you balance philanthropy and leadership?
Philanthropy in the US needs to change ➡️ needs disruption. Why❓ Because we've become too comfortable with the status quo. Too comfortable being distracted by who needs money most. In other words, "we need you now more than ever"... How many times have we heard that❓ And where does the truth lie in that statement❓ The #philanthropicleader we need is the one unafraid to call out the waste, and call out the urgency of ➡️ causes ➡️ people ➡️ communities that truly need funding. That's the leader people will follow. Be that leader.
