Happy #PrideMonth! 🌈 At #AMH we’re proud to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and continue our commitment to championing #inclusion and representation in our workplace. Our LGBTQ+ #EmployeeResourceGroup, co-chaired by Peter Montanez and Tim Frantz, came together yesterday to celebrate the significance of #pride, creating a space for members to share their unique experiences and reflect on the progress that’s been made within the LGBTQ+ community throughout our history. We thank these leaders, as well as all participating members and allies of the #ERG, for advancing a company #culture of belonging, acceptance, and unity, through which everyone can safely bring their authentic selves to work every day.

✨ LGBTQ+ History Month ✨ In case you didn't know, February is LGBTQ+ History month. Last week, we shared the first in our series of tips on how you can be a better ally to the LGBTQ+ community, and how checking your privilege helps you to be more supportive to all marginalised groups, not just LGBTQ+ people. 👉 Allyship Tip 2: Call it out! 👈 Don’t underestimate the power of calling out micro-aggressions, people using incorrect pronouns, deadnaming, inappropriate jokes, or general discriminatory comments. It shouldn’t be the responsibility of members of the LGBTQ+ community to have to always stand up for themselves and point out when people are wrong – it’s everyone’s responsibility! Whether there are LGBTQ+ people present or not, calling out this behaviour every time it happens will hopefully lead to a safer and more comfortable environment for your LGBTQ+ colleagues. #lgbtqhistorymonth #inclusion #allyship #podtalent

The Right to Thrive and Exist - Insights from LGBTQIA Executives on Inclusion and Belonging Post-303 Creative LGBTQ+ rights have been under attack in years and the recent SCOTUS decision is another erosion of rights. The recent events raises questions about what it means to belong and what members of the LGBTQ+ community must balance to be authentic to belong in our workplace as well as the communities where we live. Join us at the Creating Pathways to Diversity Conference in NY on October 9-11 to hear this panel discuss what workplaces must consider and do to create a culture where all feel safe to identify as a member of LGBTQ+ and use pronouns without backlash; and where employees feel a sense of belonging, to improve morale and retention. June is Pride Month. For the LGBTQ+ community, #PrideMonth promotes dignity, equal rights, and self-affirmation and is a way of increasing society’s awareness of the issues they face. As companies engage in DEI planning and initiatives, it is key that all groups are represented. The acronym LGBTQ+ has been extended to encompass a more diverse group, most recently shown as LGBTQIA2s+, indicating the continued focus on inclusion for all. As an employer, are you ensuring a welcoming, supportive, and safe workplace for all people? Do you recognize the unique talents of each individual, helping create an environment that enables employees to do their best? ➡️Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gxec7-iv

As a Relationship Manager at Workplace Pride, Robert Corvers takes great pride in the work he does for our members and his community. Recently, Robert had the privilege to share his personal story and expertise on LGBTIQ+ inclusion in the workplace during a panel discussion at Squire Patton Boggs. 📽 You can view the video below. This opportunity was not just important; it was necessary. Globally, we are witnessing the resurgence of anti-gay laws in countries like Ghana, Russia, and even the US. Unfortunately, this often translates into increased discrimination and microaggressions against the LGBTIQ+ community. It is crucial for employers to not only acknowledge this issue but also take action. Prioritising inclusion aligns seamlessly with business objectives. It fosters a win-win situation – not only do satisfied employees result, but it also contributes to higher profits in the long run. #WorkplacePride #LGBTHistoryMonth #InclusiveWorkplace #LGBTIQ

Today, Ari Shaw, Ph.D. represented The Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law on a panel at the Milken Institute Global Conferenece on The Role of Companies for LGBTQ+ Rights. We are beyond grateful to Briland Graves, Brian Patrick Fano Carandang, and Richard Ditizio for making this important conversation come to life. “In the United States alone, nearly 14 million adults identify as LGBTQ+. The LGBTQ+ community currently wields $1 trillion in spending power—a metric that is only expected to grow. As the community becomes increasingly represented in employee and consumer bases alike, what role should corporations play in LGBTQ+ rights? How does it inform how and when companies make business decisions?” You can watch the whole panel here: https://lnkd.in/gBnrUVS6 #MIGLOBAL
