Hello! My name is Bethany Slone and I am a senior at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, studying Cybersecurity and Information Assurance with a concentration in Digital Forensics. This summer, I'm honored to have earned a spot as a #FordIntern with the Manufacturing Cybersecurity team, where we’re working on protecting the Industrial Controls Systems Environment. I adore the problem-solving side of cybersecurity and aspire to work in a cybersecurity role at Ford post-graduation. My favorite moment from this summer as a #FordIntern is most definitely when I had the opportunity to co-host the fireside chat with Bill Ford! Outside of work, I enjoy cooking and weightlifting. The Ford New Zealand team may see a familiar face when they tune into the games in August: communications chief Tom Clancy and his wife Kelly will be there cheering for their son Grant from the banks of the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium. Grant Clancy will represent his home country in the men’s two-man canoe (C2) and four-man kayak (K4) flat water sprint races. “It’s odd for a PR guy to be at a loss for words, but I’m super proud, thrilled and elated,” Tom said. “I don’t think it’s really sunk in yet but hearing his name read out by the New Zealand Olympic Committee was pretty emotional.” Congratulations to the Clancy family, and good luck, Grant – we’ll be watching! Halfway there! Cybersecurity intern Lilyan Toma took a moment to share some reflections on her summer internship so far. Hi there! My name is Chuk Anyanwu and I’m a senior at Texas Woman's University’s earning a degree in Business Administration with a focus in Supply Chain. This summer, I’ve earned a spot as a #FordIntern with the Cataloging and Releasing Team. I get the amazing but crucial task of making sure that all our vehicle parts are documented and released, ensuring a smooth production. I’m also a Ford Social Ambassador! I get to showcase the beauty of interning at Ford Motor Company to the world. My favorite event so far was hosting and meeting Bill Ford at the annual intern Fireside Chat. But I must say having the Detroit Lions practice facility next door to the building I work out of is also another fun perk.
