So let me give you some figures to back that up.   According to the German Patent and Trademark Office (Deutsches Patent- und Markenamt (DPMA), Mercedes-Benz is in second place in all of Germany for the number of patent applications made in 2023. Not only that – our total of 2,046 applications put us in the top slot among car manufacturers and accounted for more than 5% of the total of 38,469 domestic patent applications.   A piece on German news outlet Tagesschau summarised that the total for 2023 was 3.4% up on domestic patent applications in 2022. And the top ten slots were held by auto industry companies. Proof that after 138 years of innovation, we are still at the forefront when it comes to pioneering technology.   A big thanks to all in our R&D team who make this possible year after year. #MercedesBenz #LeadinInnovation

#WEAREBERTRANDT | The Bertrandt decade from 1994 was characterized on the one hand by big and bold steps such as the IPO and the transformation into a stock corporation. On the other hand, major technical achievements such as the development of the Bertrandt Competence Car (BCC) reflected an expansion of expertise. In 2004, Bertrandt had 3,000 employees in the international automotive and aviation industry as well as 19 locations in Europe and a branch in the United States. In addition, the many years of engineering experience were extended to other sectors such as medical technology with the founding of Bertrandt Services GmbH. In 2009, the Bertrandt share was included in the SDAX despite the tense overall situation caused by the financial and economic crisis. From 2012, the growth was noticeably reflected in the geographical expansion and, among other things, the Chinese Bertrandt headquarters were established in Shanghai.
