🌍 Did you know there are over 8 billion people living on the planet today, and it's estimated that 10% of the world’s population identifies as LGBTQ? 🌈 🥳 This means when Pete Buttigieg becomes our next 🏳️🌈Vice President, he will lift the opportunities of over 800 million people worldwide! 🌋This monumental step forward is why I’m so excited about the Harris-Buttigieg ticket. 🙏Together, they represent a future where diversity, inclusivity, and equality are at the forefront of our nation’s leadership. Earlier this week, I shared: 📣 "Do you know how much the LGBTQ community contributes to the United States economy? If the LGBTQ community were a country, it would be the 10th largest in the world. This significant economic impact is just one reason why Pete Buttigieg would make a compelling choice for Vice President." Harris – Buttigieg 2024 🤩❤️☀️🏆🔥🙏 📣 "Do you know what this is going to do for LGBTQ rights all over the world? It’s going to get harder and harder to dehumanize someone who is the Vice President of the United States." Harris-Buttigieg 2024 🏳️🌈🤩🏆🙏🔥🎉 Let’s continue to support this incredible team and work towards a brighter, more inclusive future! https://lnkd.in/erSccJjX #HarrisButtigieg2024 #Equality #LGBTQ #Diversity #Inclusion #FutureIsBright

In Honor of Women's March & Month 2024 and The strong women of my family who raised me, I want to share an interview, 🎀 "Toni Morrison on Racism, Racial Divisions, and Racial Relations Movement." 🎀 In the interview, the late, esteemed Nobel Laureate and Writer, Toni Morrison, exudes optimism, fulfillment, keen intellect, unassailable dignity, and serene composure even when faced with uncomfortable questions. Morrison minces no words nor intentions when asked about the inherent nature of racism, who benefits from it, presumed lack of portrayal of whites as substantially as she does blacks, and why she writes about marginalized whites. I am totally in agreement of Toni Morrin's values and outlook on racial relations and finding solutions for socioeconomic disparities and that of polarized political divide. Here are the key takeaways and wisdom I've extracted from the interview: 👣 Racism is a theological, scholarly, and scientific affair, offering powerful Utilitarian benefits for those aiming to remain at the center of the universe. It is based on mythical, metaphorical, irrational, and unscientific tenets. 👣 Racism is not inherent in white people; it's ingrained in the education and life experiences received from childhood onwards - individuals intentionally persuade themselves, and they're being persuaded, unintentionally. 👣 Some marginalized, neglected, and underserved whites cling to the racist and racial divide movement to feel better, despite not benefiting from it. Unfortunately, this is what Hillary Clinton referred to as "The Deplorables" in 2016 while running against Donald Trump. I disdain the use of dehumanizing language by politicians and pundits for political gain. 👣 Racism survives on the Utilitarian or benefit-oriented values inherent in it for socio-economic advantages. It is kept alive by those who benefit from it. 👣 Toni Morrison was optimistic about finding a solution for the racial divide project by the end, but she emphasized that it will take generations. I suggest watching the entirety of the entire interview with an open mind and also reading the insightful reader commentaries for more takeaways.

لینک گروه تلگرامم https://t.me/eng_with_dave امشب ساعت 9 تا 10:30 جلسه فری دیسکاشن انگلیسی داریم موضوع بحث Sexism: Sexism refers to the discrimination, stereotyping, or prejudice based on a person's gender, typically favoring one gender over the other. It can manifest in various ways, such as unequal opportunities, pay gaps, and harmful stereotypes. Sexism can affect both men and women, but it disproportionately impacts women, limiting their social, economic, and political participation. Questions: 1. What are some common stereotypes associated with men and women in your culture, and how do these stereotypes affect people's lives? 2. Can you think of examples of sexism in your daily life or in the media? How do these instances make you feel, and how can we combat them? 3. How has gender equality evolved over the years in your country, and what challenges still remain? 4. In your opinion, what are the key steps society can take to promote gender equality and combat sexism? 5. Discuss any personal experiences or stories related to sexism, either encountered or witnessed, and how they influenced your perspective on gender issues.

Examining the impact of banning books on queer parenting in public libraries is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, such actions restrict access to resources that can provide support, representation, and validation for LGBTQ+ parents and their families. Banning books with LGBTQ+ themes or characters can contribute to feelings of isolation, shame, and invisibility among queer parents and their children. We chat with Hank Paul Leading Media Professional Manager with Transgender Victoria about this important area for our webpodast with the Australian Sociological Association Furthermore, censoring materials related to queer parenting reinforces harmful stereotypes, perpetuates discrimination, and hinders efforts towards creating inclusive and accepting communities. It sends a message that LGBTQ+ families are not welcome or deserving of representation in public spaces, including libraries that should serve all members of the community. Understanding and addressing the impact of banning books on queer parenting in public libraries is essential for promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. It allows for the recognition of diverse family structures, experiences, and identities, fostering a sense of belonging and acceptance for LGBTQ+ individuals and families. By examining the effects of censorship on queer parenting materials, libraries can advocate for intellectual freedom, challenge biases, and promote empathy and understanding among library users.

What a great example of acing an on-the-spot interview. Yet another reason to admire #JaneFonda. 1️⃣ Know your topic well 2️⃣ Use clear, concise language 3️⃣ Be in control of the volume of your voice, emphasis on certain words as well as the pauses 4️⃣ Show emotions but do not exaggerate 5️⃣ Insert your message into the conversation regardless of the way questions are formulated 6️⃣ Turn misstatements to your advantage in the most clever way
