The Indian Indifference 6. The Meru & Embu Confusion 7. The Luo pridefulness 8. The Somali Pretence 9. The Kisii absence 10. The storming of the Kenyan parliament and the ensuing violence, which tragically resulted in casualties, underscore the urgent need for meaningful dialogue between the government and its citizens. As professionals, we must recognize the socio-economic pressures driving such actions and advocate for policies that balance fiscal responsibility with the well-being of the populace. The call for transparency, accountability, and a responsive government is louder than ever. #kenyaprotests #youthvoices #economicjustice

2024 is the United Nations International #YearofCamelids. In Somali culture, camels hold unparalleled value, with camel herders esteemed as superior individuals. The significance of camels in Somali society is eloquently depicted in extensive oral poetry, with the sentiment that Somalis are willing to sacrifice for their camels. Notably, renowned Somali poet Mohamed Nour Fadal expressed, "One must be willing to die for a Camel if he wishes to rear." Camels remain an integral part of rural communities and, the commercialization of camel dairy farms is currently underway, with local traders spearheading the establishment of profit-oriented semi-intensive pre-urban dairy farms in key towns across Somalia.

Improving Farmer Livelihoods | Trainer of Trainers | Certified Food safety, GlobaGap auditor and Trainer |
Ignorance in pesticide use among Kenyan farmers is like spraying for pests with a garden hose, not realizing there’s a more targeted approach. Arrogance, on the other hand, is thinking that because one has read a pesticide label, they are now a certified pest control expert and no further research is necessary. It is high time we agreed that pesticides are misused in Kenya and solutions are found, banning some pesticides is not a solution as a farmer can also misuse approved pesticides which may lead to MRL exceedance thus compromising food safety. #Kenya #Pesticides #Foodsafety #Agriculture.

HUTU AND TUTSI (RWANDA AND BURUNDI) The Hutu and Tutsi are two ethnic groups in the Great Lakes region of Africa, particularly in Rwanda and Burundi. Historically, they shared similar cultures, languages, and intermingled communities. However, colonial influence exacerbated social divisions, leading toW/ tensions and ultimately the Rwandan Genocide in 1994. The Hutu are primarily farmers, while the Tutsi historically were pastoralists and often held leadership roles. Despite their differences, efforts toward reconciliation and unity have been made in post-genocide Rwanda and Burundi to foster peace and healing among the Hutu and Tutsi communities. #culturearoundtheworld #Hutuandtutsi #hutuandtutsiculture #hutuculture #tutsiculture
