CHOCOLATE WALK

Support the Community while Supporting the Arts - Enjoy a walk that tours around Medina’s Public Square area while gathering chocolate themed treats from each participating business you visit.  This is a fun way for community members to get the opportunity to visit local businesses and meet new people all while supporting the arts in Medina County. Proceeds from the Chocolate Walk will help Medina County Arts Council continue to provide grants to Medina County educators and art programs as well as scholarships for graduating seniors who have excelled in the arts and more.

  • October 26, 2024 from 11am to 5 pm

    During this unique event, ticket holders will visit “Chocolatier” stops throughout the downtown Medina area collecting samples provided by business owners and community partners - each serving something unique and special but of course, chocolate-themed.

    Attendees will discover endless options— everything from fudges, mochas, truffles, candles and so much more. One “Chocolatier” stop equals one chocolate treat.

    At check-in, each ticket holder will receive a tote bag and storage container to carry their samples in and an official map of the “Chocolatier” stops.

    Not only is this a fun opportunity for the community to support the arts in Medina County, but it’s also the perfect time to shop for the upcoming holidays or treat yourself as you make your way through the many unique shops.

    This fundraising event benefits Medina County Arts Council (MCAC) and will help MCAC to provide grant funding to Medina County schools and organizations for arts-related projects as well as scholarships to graduating arts student who continue their arts education.

    We have such a rich and prosperous arts community in this county - for over 40 years, MCAC has been committed to promoting creativity and building community excellence in the arts.

  • A Chocolatier is one that passes out chocolate as a business with a brick and mortar or at a business as a guest.

    As a “Chocolatier” you will have 300 Chocolate Walk participants visit your business by offering samples of premium chocolate treats. 

    If you do not have a brick & mortar business around the Medina Square, you can either partner up with one or include request to get a host when you complete the online form.

  • Tickets will be available online only through our website starting September 1st.

  • Check-in is in the A.I. Root Community Room located next to the Root Candle Flagship store. The address is 623 W Liberty St, Medina, OH 44256.

    There will be signage outside. Parking is available next to the Community Room (red brick building) or across the street.

  • Parking at Check-in: available at Root Candles next to the Community Room (red brick building) or across the street.
    Signs will be near the road directing these lots and a sign indicating which door to enter for check-in.

    Parking at the Square: public parking garages behind the Courthouse or next to City Hall as well as the other surrounding public lots and parking spaces around the Square.

  • Tickets are sold by check-in time so we will check you in according to the time you selected. Check-in will be conducted at or after the time on your ticket but not prior.

  • No, but it may be helpful. At the Check-in table, give the last name of the person who purchased your ticket(s) and the number of tickets.

  • Check-in process will be by the last name of the person who purchased the tickets.

    Line #1 - last names beginning with A through L

    Line #2 - last names beginning with M through Z

    At check-in, each ticket holder will receive a Chocolate Walk bag, a take home container, and an official map to find all your chocolate treats.

  • You will receive a printed map when you check-in listing the participating businesses and their addresses. During the walk, each stop will have signage designating it as an official Chocolatier Participant. Some of the Chocolatiers are located right there in the Root Event Center so be sure to visit them before venturing out.

  • We are hoping for at least 20 Chocolatiers for the event.

    in 2023, we had 24 stops & in 2022 there were 21 stops.

  • You will present the Chocolate Walk map at each of the participating Chocolatier locations to receive your chocolate sample. Chocolatiers will initial/mark your map to confirm that you have received your chocolate sample. There is one sample per attendee/map. If you lose your map, you will not be able to receive another one.

  • This event is rain or shine and refunds will not be offered.
