As a volunteer, you can play an integral part in fulfilling that mission here at the Museum of Arts and Sciences. By committing to a recurring, seasonal or episodic service schedule, volunteers provide vital support, expertise, time, experience, ideas, and energy towards projects and tasks that make the Museum a welcoming and memorable experience for all.
MOAS serves various roles for the surrounding regions within Volusia County and beyond, including education, stewardship, preservation and collaboration. We have many volunteer opportunities available to assist with those efforts. You can serve at our Museum Store and Cafe, help support our Planetarium and education-based events, provide tours as a trained Docent or assist with other hands-on projects and tasks.

These wonderful stores provide our guests the opportunity to take a little bit of MOAS home with them. Volunteers help with general operations and it’s a perfect spot to socialize with visitors of all ages, creating a welcoming environment for all.
Each season of the year holds a variety of chances to assist with kids and youth on their educational journeys, whether through our Lohman Planetarium, the William's Children Museum, Family Science Nights, the Summer Learning Institute, field trips, stargazing evenings and more.
Trained docents help MOAS staff provide an engaging and interactive experience for visitors while also increasing their learning experiences. This can include hosting educational programs, leading tours and increasing public awareness of the Museum's mission out in the community.
Events are essential to the continued growth of the Museum's impact and would not be possible without the volunteers who offer their time and skills to assist with membership tables, registration, concessions and overall support. These efforts are cost-effective and strengthen the community bonds and relationships within the MOAS footprint.
