Yes, there are avenues for which 3D printing or additive manufacturing might find application in herbal medicine. A recent review by Ángela Aguilar-de-Leyva, et al. (doi: 10.3390/pharmaceutics12070620) in Pharmaceutics, discusses 3D printing drug delivery systems based on natural products. And in a more specific example, Jiang et al. (doi: 10.1080/09168451.2015.1046363) in Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, use Angelica gigas Nakai (a popular herbal medicine) in a hot melt extrusion process.
