A Washington Parish man has been arrested after authorities say they found a man shot dead in a backyard near Bogalusa on Friday.

Clois Clifton Blackledge III, 35, was arrested Saturday after investigators say he shot Lark Starnes, 62, in the backyard of Starnes' home in the 1200 block of South Choctaw Road near Bogalusa.

The Louisiana State Police Unmanned Aircraft Systems team helped the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office locate Blackledge, who was reportedly walking down Highway 21 near Mitchell Road on Saturday. Authorities took him in for questioning, and he was booked on a count of second-degree murder and obstruction of justice.

The sheriff's office quickly named Blackledge a person of interest after they found Starnes' body at 8:15 a.m. Friday.

Authorities said the Honda motorcycle Blackledge allegedly rode was last seen at Poole's Bluff boat lunch at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Investigators searched near there but didn't find Blackledge until Saturday morning.

The investigation is ongoing, the sheriff's office said. No other details were immediately available, including the evidence that led authorities to arrest Blackledge in the killing.
