Ding dong, the witch is dead. The college baseball world will be dancing around like munchkins from "The Wizard of Oz" after North Carolina's come-from-behind victory over LSU. This ensures Jay Johnson's team will not repeat at the 2024 College World Series, paving the way for a new victor in Omaha.
The Tigers were among the betting favorites heading into the postseason following their success at the SEC Tournament in Hoover. Their elimination opens the door for other conference teams to climb up the odds boards now. Let's discuss the College World Series odds ahead of the Super Regionals.

Who are the favorites to win the 2024 College World Series?
There aren't any notable changes at the top, Tennessee and Texas A&M remain betting favorites at FanDuel Sportsbook. The Volunteers and Aggies went a combined 6-0 this weekend as they coasted to Super Regional berths. They've been the two most dominant teams in the country all season, as their respective 53-11 and 47-13 records indicate.
Both SEC powerhouses have lost just three times at home all season, none of those losses coming consecutively. That's a daunting statistic for Evansville (Knoxville) and Oregon (College Station), who come into each team's home ballpark for the Super Regionals this weekend.
Tennessee (+270) and Texas A&M (+360) are just two of the SEC teams in the hunt. Kentucky (+850) and Georgia (+1500) are also eyeing trips to Omaha after taking care of business in their regionals.
The SEC isn't the only major conference player left, though, as the ACC also boasts five teams remaining.
North Carolina has the best odds of any team from the conference following its extra-innings victory over LSU in Game 7 of the Chapel Hill Regional. The Tar Heels (+850) are now preparing to host West Virginia, which is headed to "The Bosh" for its first-ever Super Regional.
The Mountaineers aren't alone in their inexperience either. Evansville will play in its first Super Regional this year, whereas Kansas State will play its second. Kentucky and Oregon find themselves at this stage in the postseason for the third time in their program histories.
Inexperience is a theme across the board with much of the remaining field. The three most successful teams in the field — LSU (seven titles), Texas (six) and Arizona (four) — all bowed out in the regionals.
There are just six national championship wins among the remaining field of 16 teams with Oregon State boasting 50% of those titles. Florida, Georgia and Virginia have one apiece; the other 12 teams have never triumphed in Omaha. This makes for an exciting race to the finish with a wide-open field.
