Jackson Linn was the hero, clubbing a walk-off homer in Tulane’s 11-10 win over Wichita State during Sunday’s title game. Now is when things really get interesting as Tulane aims to get past Oregon State, UC Irvine and Nicholls State to notch a Super Regional berth.

The regional hosts enter as the favorites to advance to the next round.
According to Caesars Sportsbook, Oregon State is -140 to win this regional. For context, the Beavers have an implied probability of 58.3% of notching a Super Regional berth.
UC Irvine is the primary challenger, with +200 odds (33.3% implied probability) of emerging victorious this weekend. Tulane is +625 (13.8%), while Nicholls is +1400 (6.7%) in the latest betting odds.
Corvallis Regional prediction
This regional could be one of the more interesting brackets during the opening weekend.
UC Irvine, Oregon State, and Nicholls all ranked Top 25 in total runs scored this season. Tulane averaged 11.5 runs per game during its conference tournament run, and with that level of firepower, there is a potential for variance across a weekend of games.
As a result, I don’t feel comfortable paying minus odds for Oregon State to win after its runner-up finish in the Pac-12 Tournament. In the latest Massey Ratings, the Beavers are No. 10 overall, but the Anteaters are not far behind at No. 16.

UC Irvine’s offense is difficult to get out, ranking second in the nation in on-base percentage. The Anteaters have a young pitching staff, but fifth-year starter Nick Pinto is a trusted veteran leading the way.
The last time the Anteaters went to the Corvallis Regional was in 2014 when they knocked off the No. 1 national seed. They are capable of surprising again this weekend.
