It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in July. The New Orleans Saints have put the pads on as training camp becomes a bit more intense. Have sportsbooks seen or heard anything in recent days to change the Saints' odds on the futures market? Let's break down the latest developments from Irvine, California.

A lot of the attention has been on the offense, and rightly so. There have been questions about the offensive line all offseason, but it seems as if Dennis Allen is doing his best to steady that ship by naming his five hopeful starters earlier this summer and sticking to that unit throughout camp. Instead, another position has become a major concern for New Orleans.

There is worry surrounding the running back spot with Alvin Kamara looking for a new contract and Kendre Miller suffering an injury during the team's first practice. In an ideal world, Mickey Loomis can strike a deal with Kamara and Miller returns healthy before the season, but Jamaal Williams could end up playing a bigger role than originally anticipated if not.

These questions have bettors and fans skeptical of New Orleans' potential in 2024/25. These uncertainties are now showing up in the betting market.

Here are the Saints' latest playoff odds via FanDuel Sportsbook:

New Orleans Saints playoff odds

Odds to win the Super Bowl: +10000

Odds to win the NFC: +4000

Odds to win the NFC South: +380

Odds to make the NFL playoffs: +184

All of the unanswered questions surrounding the black and gold have led to plenty of public doubt. New Orleans is one of the least-bet teams in the NFL. The season is quickly approaching with the Hall of Fame Game just days away, and even still, it seems the team is trending in the wrong direction.

The Saints' odds of winning the Super Bowl dropped from 90/1 to 100/1 over the weekend at FanDuel Sportsbook.

When it was announced that Super Bowl LIX would be hosted in the Crescent City, New Orleans surely had its eye on becoming just the third team to win the big game in its home stadium. However, it seems that dream has been grounded before it could even take off as the Saints' +10000 odds are the joint-fifth longest — along with the Las Vegas Raiders — in the entire league.

Naturally, New Orleans' odds to win the NFC got longer too, shifting from +3800 to +4000. Those were the only two futures tallies tracked in this regular piece that did not see any change in last week's update.

There was no movement regarding NFC South odds recently with the Saints staying put with the third-best odds (+380) to top the division for the first time since 2020.

New Orleans' playoff odds fluctuated a bit, but the numbers have remained in the same ballpark (+170 to +185) over the last few months. It has currently settled at +184, the highest tally since the offseason began. The Saints are heavy chalk (-230) to miss the postseason for the fourth straight season.

Despite all of these negative developments, New Orleans remains a 4.5-point favorite in Week 1 against the visiting Carolina Panthers.
