2024 Copa America preview: Canada vs. Chile odds, prediction, best bet
Canada earned its first-ever Copa America win last time out as it narrowly edged out 10-man Peru, 1-0. Les Rouges have set themselves up nicely to advance with either a win or a draw on the final matchday. Jesse Marsch's team was viewed as a longshot to get out of the group, but knockout round qualification is within reach after a resilient performance.
Meanwhile, Chile was unlucky not to remain unbeaten at the 2024 Copa America after stumping Argentina for almost 90 minutes. Lautaro Martinez's 88th-minute winner stunned La Roja and sealed their fate heading into the final game of the group stage. Ricardo Gareca's men need three points to give themselves a chance to advance — some help from La Albiceleste would also be appreciated.

Analysis: There truly isn't much to separate these two squads aside from two points in the Group A table. They sit 40th and 48th respectively in the FIFA World Rankings and they've both got a -1 goal differential at the Copa America, although it'd be -2 for Chile if not for Claudio Bravo's brilliance.
Furthermore, Les Rouges and La Roja seem allergic to scoring goals at this tournament. Canada striker Jonathan David's second-half strike against Peru is the only goal either has scored at this tournament so far. This is rather surprising given how much individual talent each team possesses.
Marsch has plenty of Europe's finest available for selection with Lille's coveted No. 9, David, as well as Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies and Inter Milan's Tajon Buchanan. Yet, they've managed just four shots on target in two matches at the Copa America.
The issue in front of goal is less surprising for Chile, who has an aging core in attack with Inter Milan's Alexis Sanchez (35) and Atletico Mineiro's Eduardo Vargas (34). La Roja has also registered just four shots on target over 180+ minutes, but expect more urgency in this contest to result in more opportunities.
The situation will force Chile — who isn't used to having a ton of possession in Gareca's system — to be more adventurous on the ball. Canada needs at least a draw, though, so don't expect Les Rouges to be content with sitting back and letting La Roja determine the group's destiny. I said there was little to separate the two sides and I believe that to be true, I foresee a low-scoring draw in this contest.
