LSU coach Brian Kelly watches the National 'L' Club Spring Game action on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Three-star safety Jhase Thomas has committed to LSU football, Thomas announced on Saturday.

At 6-foot-1 and 183 pounds, Thomas is the No. 531 player and the No. 46 safety in the country from the Class of 2025, according to the 247Sports Composite.

He attends Destrehan High in Louisiana and is the No. 20 recruit in the state.

Thomas also fielded scholarship offers from Colorado, Ole Miss, Arkansas and Texas Tech.

His father, Fred Thomas, played 12 seasons in the NFL as a defensive back. He spent the first four seasons of his career with the Seattle Seahawks before playing the final eight with the New Orleans Saints.

Thomas is the 16th player to commit to LSU's 2025 class and its lone defensive back. The Tigers had a commitment from four-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine — the No. 2 recruit in Louisiana — but he backed away from his pledge in June.

Antoine is set to announce his next commitment on July 20. LSU is among the finalists along with Miami and Florida State.

Prior to Thomas' commitment, LSU had the No. 6 recruiting class in the nation, only trailing Ohio State, Alabama, Notre Dame, Georgia and Oregon.
