The fastest woman in the world going for gold at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris was recently a clue on a New York Times crossword puzzle.

Former LSU track and field star Sha'Carri Richardson will be representing Team USA in the 100 meter dash next week.

Richardson qualified for the Olympics earlier this summer after when running the 100 meter sprint in 10.71 seconds at the U.S. Olympic  track and field trials in Eugene, Oregon. 

The LSU athlete rose to fame in 2019 when she set the collegiate record in the 100 meter dash at the NCAA championships. She was a freshman then, but has breen breaking records and securing gold medals in various competitions ever since. 

This will be Richardson's first time competing in the Olympics after being disqualified from the 2020 games after testing positive for marijuana

But before she competes in Paris, Richardson was chosen as a clue on a recent edition of the New York Times crossword.

The clue was "compete like Sha'Carri Richardson." 

The answer: RUN 

When does Sha'Carri compete? 

The women's 100 meter dash preliminary race is on Aug. 2, where Richardson could progress into the semi-finals and finals on Aug. 3.
