I was 16 when this was released. Everybody in the school watched it at one point or another; most of us loved it, but there were a few who didn't. Those people were exactly like the popular kids in the movie; I guess they weren't fond of how they were portrayed. The truth hurts.

This movie is peak 80's, from the clichés to the dialogue and the end result is a dark satirical cult classic.

This is genuinely one of the best movies I've ever seen, edgy 80's teenage drama is everything I needed, AND THE MUSCIAL SOUNDTRACK?? SO CREATIVE. 100% would reccomend this movie to anyone.

With a great mix of dark humor and brilliant performances this 80's Movie is great despite being underappreciated when first released.

After hearing the musical soundtrack, I knew I had to watch the original movie. Great choice to make. The dark humor is hilarious, and the pacing of the movie is great. JD works as a great “villain” character, and Veronica is portrayed perfectly by Winona. The 80s-edging-90’s vibe is incredible and makes me appreciate older movies, compared to the modern flicks of today. Absolutely would recommend it if you’re looking for a dark, hilarious thriller. And if you’re up for a more song-oriented version of the classic, I would also recommend watching the musical. Same story, just with songs to fill in the key plot points. 4.5/5

It's humorous, emotional, and perfect. All in one movie. I love it.

Brilliant in its writing, great in its execution, iconic in its aphorisms, Heathers is a movie whose impact on subsequent movies is obvious. This underrated cult-classic mixes satirical high school tropes with somber themes and confronts you with important philosophical questions on morality, responsibility, and the unfairness of teens living in an adult world and being treated as exploited children. I particularly enjoyed JD's intense utilitarianism, and Miss Flemings exploitative usage of the students pain and suffering. A timeless piece that is sadly still relevant. In short, a must-watch.

Still my favourite movie all these years on

I'm not sure why anyone likes this film. A dark comedy can be all right, if it's funny, but there aren't any genuine laughs in this. A few clever lines and a lot of sadism and graphic violence, a lot of cruelty and family grief and bloody maiming of young people, which I guess is supposed to be hilarious? It probably appeals to real life sociopaths like the character J.D. represents. The only redeeming thing about the film is Winona Ryder's face.

I think it was very boring. I wanted it to stop. The acting was fine. Dont really get how this is an amazing movie and how it got very good reviews

Heathers is a timeless dark satire about high school bullying and the blindness of young love. The absurd story paired with the very dark moments might be a bit confusing at first, but the message it tells is as important as ever. The fantastical costumes and the great performances make this an absolute classic.

Weird movie. The premise is better than the execution.

This is one of those kind of movies that is worth watching again as you move through life. I take much different things from it than I did the first time I saw it - and will again in 10 years, I am sure. The characters and cast to play them are great. Nothing is obvious and when it is it's nuanced. Great film.
