The Arizona Diamondbacks had an impressive 5-2 win Friday over the Chicago Cubs. Saturday they find themselves as sizable favorites despite Zac Gallen’s recent struggles. Prior to the All Star break he had issues in three straight outings, including allowing six runs in one inning. Look for a bounce back spot from Gallen, and for the Diamondbacks lineup to have success against Kyle Hendricks for the second time this season.

Friday could have been the best night of our MLB betting season (still very good), but the Phillies gonna Phillie. If they don't get a top closer, they aren't winning jack. Really same story: Brussels sprouts will never be good, Spandau Ballet will never have another good song ("True" changed my life in some ways, also wedding song), and the Phils will apparently never have a good bullpen. The Cubs completely flatlined Friday. Which is so disappointing. This is probably my Waterloo with them in 2024. Show something. Arizona pitcher Zac Gallen is generally awesome in Phoenix but a different cat on the road. CHC's Kyle Hendricks looks like a really polite librarian (so did Greg Maddux) but was great last time out.
