Change of Ownership for Schools

Barbering and cosmetology schools cannot "transfer ownership" to another person or entity.

If school changes ownership, the new owner must apply for a new license within 30 days after the change of ownership.

You must submit a completed initial license application form with all required documentation and pay the non-refundable application fee.

A school that has changed ownership must be inspected, but may continue to operate pending the department's inspection.
