LSU baseball head strength and conditioning coach Jeremy McMillan coaches in the bullpen against Grambling, Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Alex Box Stadium on the campus of LSU in Baton Rouge, La.

LSU baseball strength and conditioning coach Jeremy McMillan is heading back to Texas A&M, a source confirmed to The Advocate Saturday.

McMillan spent this past season as the Tigers' strength and conditioning coach after he was at Texas A&M for the previous 12 seasons.

A source indicated that Jordan Pennella, LSU football's assistant manager of applied sport science, will train LSU baseballs incoming players in place of McMillan for its summer training program.

A replacement for McMillan is expected by the end of July, according to a source.

McMillan is the third member of LSU's coaching staff to leave the program this offseason.

Last month, associate director of program development and recruiting Terry Rooney left to become the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at South Carolina, while director of operations Brent Haring departed to become the head coach at Nicholls State.

McMillan replaced Derek Groomer who left LSU to become the strength and conditioning coach at Georgia.

LSU will have its fourth different strength and conditioning coach in four years this upcoming season. Prior to Groomer and McMillan, Travis Roy was the team's strength and conditioning coach during Johnson's first season in Baton Rouge.
