Internship at the Office of the Chief Rabbi

The Office of the Chief Rabbi (OCR) is looking to recruit a committed and proactive intern to join this fast paced, high profile public office. The OCR Internship is offered to an outstanding graduate who has demonstrated a commitment to community service and Jewish life. This graduate placement will provide an excellent introduction to the Jewish community across the UK and to the work of the OCR.

The role includes:

· Providing logistical and administrative support for key projects and initiatives being run by the OCR team

· Editing audio, video and written communications

· Updating and maintaining the OCR website

· Administrative support to the Chief Rabbi’s Centre for Community Excellence

· Accompanying the Chief Rabbi to events and assisting with photos and videos

· Developing and improving the OCR database

· General assistance in the office

Person specification:

Essential

· Hold Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

· Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage several projects at once

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to show initiative and flexibility

· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team

· An understanding of the Jewish community

· Identifies with the ethos and vision of the Office of the Chief Rabbi

Desirable

· Experience in using video editing software

· Familiarity with website content management

· Experience in graphic design

The successful candidate may be expected to work and attend meetings and events outside of office hours. The role itself requires flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the OCR.

Salary: £24,000 per annum.

Lauderdale Road Synagogue, the flagship synagogue of the S&P Sephardi Community is excited to welcome a Community and Youth Rabbinical Couple to join their team.

The couple will be required to engage, enthuse and support all members of the Community at every stage of their life cycle, plan and deliver a broad variety of educational, cultural and social programmes, with particular focus on pastoral care and inspiring our next generation.

Responsibilities will include overseeing weekly children and youth services, creating exciting new programmes to inspire and engage our youth and their families, and developing their strong links to the Community as they pursue further education, start careers, and embark on married life.

Foremost, we are looking for a couple to actively build relationships with everyone at Lauderdale Road, regardless of age, attendance, or observance, reach out to new members, as well as supporting the current Rabbinic team.

Our current Senior Rabbi & Rebbetzin - Rabbi Dr Alan & Via Kimche are returning to Israel in March 2025 at the end of a successful contract.
