.DISCUSSION...
Warm and mostly dry conditions continue through Tuesday, with
increasing southerly winds bringing a potential for gusts as high
as 35 to 40 mph to some areas west of Interstate 29 Monday and
Tuesday. The stronger winds could result in locally higher fire
danger in areas where fine fuels/grasses are more cured than the
broader average.

Rain chances increase Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, with
the best chances for more than 0.25 inch of rainfall in areas west
of Interstate 29. The latter half of the week could bring more
rain to the region, especially from Thursday night onward.
However, details in timing and rainfall amounts are still
uncertain.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

The Grassland Fire Danger Index will reach the low category
this afternoon. Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture
content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the
ground, indicate that the probability of a fast moving fire is
low. Outdoor burning under these conditions can usually be
with reasonable safety precautions, but should be monitored.

OUTLOOK FOR MONDAY AFTERNOON...The Grassland Fire Danger Index
will reach the low category.

The grassland fire danger product reflects fire danger for native
grasses. It is not intended for cured agricultural crops, nor
will it reflect conditions in road ditches which have been mowed.
