Hot Temperatures in the Central U.S.; Tropical Storm Hone to Pass South of Hawaii

Hot to excessively hot temperatures will migrate north reaching parts of the northern Plains and Upper Midwest by Sunday into Monday. Tropical Storm Hone will pass south of the Hawaiian Islands, strengthening into a hurricane briefly southwest of Hawaii Sunday afternoon into Sunday night. The Mission of the International Affairs Office (IAO) of the U.S. National Weather Service is to enhance NOAA/NWS ability to provide the best weather, water, and climate forecasts through international cooperation on hydro-meteorological observations, data exchange, modeling, research, and technology development; and to provide global leadership in setting meteorological standards and building partnerships to save lives and protect property.
