La Crosse, Wis. (WXOW) The WIAA released the pairing for the State Baseball Tournament next week and no surprise, Aquinas received the number one seed in Div. 3.

They will take on Cumberland on Tuesday at approximately 5:00 PM.

The winner faces Kenosha St. Joe's or Bonduel in the championship on Thursday.

The Blugolds are the defending state runner-up, so getting back to Appleton wasn't just a goal, it was expected.

They come in on a roll, having won their Sectional games by a combined score of 21-5.

"Just keep sticking with our emotions in practice, all of us just keep working hard. Trust Coach Dee. He prepares very well for these games. We just have to trust the preparation and do what we do," said senior Tanner Peterson.

"I think that was their goal was to get back there again and to manage that and we played a really difficult schedule. The first 17 games we played were against division one and two teams. I did that intentionally to toughen us up. I'm really happy for them, I really am," said head coach Mike Dee.
