The owner is SO gentle and patient I can't imagine taking my 4 yo elsewhere.

A children's haircut is $12 (plus tip) so it's half the price of most children-only places for a perfect (not just okay) cut. You can take your children here the day before pictures without fear.

(I can't say the same anywhere else I've taken my child until I discovered Salon J.)

After a winter of growing my hair I realized I needed to get it cut before my trip to the tropics. I'm particular, but I know exactly what I want and need because I've lived with my diminishing hair for 55 years now. When following my instructions barbers usually do a good job. She did exactly as I asked. And in 15 minutes I walked out with a perfect haircut. Better than I expected. Better than my $35 dollar guy.
The cherry on top? It was $17 dollars! STFU?! I haven't paid $17 in decades. I have her $25 and felt like I got away with a steal. This is definitely my new go to when I'm in the City. (Unfortunately, all too infrequently).

The owner is a no-nonsense and efficient hair specialist. She is freaking amazing.

She will just always give them the best haircut that I never then have to touch up like I do when they sometimes happen to go somewhere else due to proximity.

She doesn't give them that strange bang style that many Asian hair places do. The kind that looks like the hair in the front resembles the front of a baseball cap, sticking straight out like a duck bill.
That to me is unattractive.

She does it right! And she's fast. We're talking the fastest haircut you've ever had. With excellent results!

I'm not sure I'd go here for anything other than a pretty basic guy's haircut, but since that is what I want, it's perfect. Susan is incredibly quick and reliable and tremendous value, even if you tip at 40% (which you should, here). I've been going for years. Never disappointed. (And my wife, who is pickier than me about what my hair looks like, is totally happy)

Sweet and a simple haircuts for a simple price. Very nice woman, definitely loved supporting, especially considering it's a local business.

Stopped by this place randomly today as my son needed a haircut. Met Susan who was super friendly and welcoming! We showed her a picture of what my son wanted, as she waited patiently while he tried to find one, and she did a great job matching it. She also cut his hair gently, he'd complained of other stylists clippers from other salons pulling his hair and being rough that he'd wince at times but not with her! His cut turned out adorable and on point, son very happy and we'll be back.
Definitely give them a try.

If you are like me, the one thing you value the most in getting a haircut is eliminating the possibility of receiving a bad one. I've been getting my hair cut here for years now, and Susan has consistently given me a good haircut every time I come in. Not only that, but she remembered what kind of cut I wanted and how short to cut it after only a few visits. I just have to sit down in her chair and she gets to work.
Now, I can only speak for myself as a man, but all of the above basically creates the ideal hair cutting experience for me.
I highly recommend giving this place a try.

Terrible haircut - she did not listen at all to what I asked for. She spent around 5 minutes giving me the worst haircut I've had in years.
