Ace Parking

I randomly found this parking garage by accident while on my way to another garage nearby that I found on Google Map. Because I made a wrong turn, I wound up driving by this lot instead of the lot I had originally intended to find. Despite its address being 528 Jackson St, the entrance to this garage is actually located on Columbus St, near the corner of Columbus and Jackson. After parking here for the past week, here are my thoughts:

Pros:

-Very Affordable. All day parking here is only $18, which is very cheap for a parking lot on the outskirts of Chinatown and Union Square.
-All day free valet parking. No need to worry about poor drivers trying to park in tight spaces and hitting your car.
-Monitored lot. There's a parking attendant here at all times so there's very little worry about someone breaking or vandalizing your vehicle.
-Attendants have all been extremely friendly every time I've parked here.


Cons:
-It's located on Columbus St. So depending on which direction of Columbus you are coming from, you might need to make an illegal U-turn to get in here.
-It's very hard to pull out of this garage due to the heavy foot traffic of pedestrians walking down the sidewalk here. In addition, it's nearly impossible to see pedestrians walking by from either side until you are pretty much out on the sidewalk. You're only option is to slowly inch out and hope someone has the sense and the courtesy of letting you by (which ironically in SF, ppl seem to be particularly lacking in both traits). There is a buzzer that goes off when you drive out, but it doesn't always go off, and pedestrians walking by usually ignore it. Especially because it is also not coupled with lights that flash on the street level to warn them.
-Parking spots are very tight. I'm always worried that someone climbing into their car will ding my car. But then again, that's always a concern in the city.

Overall, this is a pretty good option if you need all-day parking around this area.

We thought this parking garage was good, we were definitely wrong. Don't park your car in here, they close probably the earliest on a Saturday. Our car is stuck in there and they don't have ANYONE to open it for us. There is no office, this company is garbage.

I never give bad reviews but I'm so upset that on Sunday they closed at 7 and we got charged $80 to get our car back from the parking lot!

Terrible customer service. Lot attendant was very rude. I understand maybe not working properly with Spothero, but the fact remains I paid for a parking spot (via spothero), and not only was I turned away, but very rudely.

I understand being full, or miscommunications happening. But you should never be rude to customers like that. Won't ever be back.
