Been here several times. It looks like they recently re-did the outside area with new turf instead of hot concrete. I'm sure people will appreciate this as well as all the dogs that visit. Pints are between $7-$9 for the most part, tons of selection and styles. Lots of outdoor seating, but get there early if you want to secure a specific spot or if you have a group of more than 4, it gets pretty busy on the weekends.

There are a few food trucks on the premises and you can bring your own food if you like, but no outside drinks!

There are shades and umbrellas over the tables outside, there is also indoor seating.

Great place to casually hang out and grab a craft beer.

Getting another brewery written for a review that was on my list of breweries where I thought the information about the experience was once deemed lost. Apparently there are quite a few more in the line up as I review my notes but I suppose better late than never.
For Almanac we enjoyed the Summer Vintage Blackberry, a Belgian Strong Ale is the category for this particular beer and we really enjoyed it a lot!
Flavor highlights to expect with this beer would be sour, fruity, Blackberry flavor, tart and strong. This beer runs on the richer side so be prepared for that. I occasionally enjoy rich or heavy beer types but usually I go for light bodied beers but a change of pace is almost always a good thing especially when diversifying the beer types as you tour through various breweries.

      Family friendly brewery

Good variety of beers, also have wine and frozen cocktails as well

There are plenty of options for seating outside and inside. My baby's favorite place is in the sandbox, which is large social moshpit of toddlers and various toys (some broken). There is shade at most of the outdoor seating and the indie seating is definitely a great place to cool off

The scolari's food truck is decent, takes a while but I don't think it's too worth it

Overall would definitely return to this family and pretty friendly place for a group hangout

We held our end-of-the-school year celebration at Almanac, and the venue was perfect for the event. Our large group was accommodated by the ample indoor room in the back of the brewery, which was a huge relief because it was quite chilly outside. On that evening, there were a couple of food trucks that provided substantial options for dinner, and I enjoyed a tasty Korean fried chicken sandwich with my beverages.

The beer was delicious; I ordered the Love Hazy IPA and a POG-flavored hard kombucha - and everything was refreshing. The atmosphere of the taproom was lively, and it seemed like other families (including kids and dogs) were hosting get-togethers as well. The lines to order moved quickly, and there was plenty of parking outside the brewery.

My family and I have been long time frequent flyers of this establishment and decided to host our baby shower here. We rented The Lounge which can accommodate up to 150 guests. We had 100 guests and lots of room for food tables, activities, dining and games. Kevin, the event coordinator, was so great to work with, answered our questions via email in a timely manner, and was so accommodating. The staff the day of the event were also very accommodating and friendly to us and our guests. The area is kid friendly as well, which was so nice for our guests under 18. There is a big sandbox on site that our 2 year old had a blast in!

We were able to play any music we wanted and you get to bring in any food you'd like! We were also given a good amount of time to set up for the event because we were the first event of the day, which was so nice. We chose The Lounge because 1. It's so unique and 2. It has an indoor AND outdoor area, which is nice because you never know with this weather! Thankfully, it was such a beautiful day.

If you do host an event here, I'm pretty sure every party needs to meet a $500 bar minimum so just a heads up for that. However, our crew had NO problem meeting this minimum. All drinks, including the non alcoholic ones they sell, count towards this requirement.

Our guests absolutely loved the venue and drink options at the bar. We cannot wait to host another event here in the future! Thanks, Almanac Team!!!

Really awesome space with a ton of seating! I had the pina colada boozy slushie (made with wine I believe?) it was delicious and refreshing. Also loved that it was dog friendly!

A life-safer for those Sunday afternoons when you are all parented out and just want to sit down with some friends and drop the kid in the sand box ;-)
Glad they have non-alcoholic stuff now and am in love with the boozy slushies.

Food options are great with Scolari's on one side and (at least the last time we were here) Poke & Pretzels on the other side. The latter sounds weird, but their soft pretzels definitely get approval from this Bavarian girl! Yum ;-)

Scolari's of course makes a mean burger! I recently tried the chopped cheese thingy. It was ok, but way too salty for me. But that's personal preference of course.

We were here on a Saturday afternoon in July. At first there was only one bartender who was working very hard with a sea of guests. We were sitting at the bar. Later we noticed a male bartender making some sexual innuendos about some female customers after they had left with their beer. It made us so uncomfortable that we left shortly afterwards and probably won't go back.

If you're in Alameda, Almanac is a place where brewheads with kids, dogs, families, and a desire to chill out and relax come to unwind.

I've been before with a larger group during sunnier times where we enjoyed the weather outside in their dog-friendly and kid-friendly patio (highly recommend). I've also more recently paid a visit indoors on a rainy day with a friend and enjoyed some delicious tasters and had yummy chicken sando's thanks to their staple food truck. The tasters were so great, as beer lovers we were psyched to see a great variety from IPA's to sours. Service was friendly and chill, and wifi is strong.

Parking is a breeze, as there are plenty of spots in their private lot across the street. It felt pretty safe even in the evening when it was dark out. Very spacious, and easy to find. The interior is grand, and there's tons of long tables, so get used to sharing your seating with other groups. Lots of TV's and even folks playing board games. Love it. We enjoyed our convo, and liked how casual it was. Def recommend for groups and for brew lovers looking for variety and a fun spot to get a casual hang in.

      Updated review

First time here at Almanac and my experience was awesome. It was a warm, sunny Sunday afternoon and my brother and I decided to come try this place out. When you arrive on site of the naval base, you are greeted with the retired naval warehouse which is renovated and ultilized for the brewery. This brewery is lively and has a family oriented atmosphere which is very welcoming. They have a friendly staff who are very spirited and are not hesitant to explain the wide selection of beer they have on tap. They had a food truck on site that provided a simple menu of American food. Overall, a great first experience with great beer, friendly staff, and unique place for a brewery. *Don't forget to grab a pack of beers on the way out. They have a huge selection of what they pour on tap in 4-pack cans to go.
