Thank you! I brought my machine in because there was a burning rubber smell and a screechy whine...I got it back and she is purring...sewing better than when I first purchased the machine. The turnaround was also so much faster than they said it would be. I am very happy to have found you.

very disappointed i spent $100 tuning up my machine getting new needels and making sure it ws running properly. I went to use my machine and the first thing that happened was the needel fell out of the machine when I was sewing.

Only needed a few things and since it was difficult to buy from Amazon due to delivery delays and the usual fabric stores as they were all closed during this time, came here and Billy was so helpful.

      Thank you so much!

Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. This is an industry favorite. If you are a student or just a home sewist, apparel city has the notions, muslin and other sewing essentials you need. You won't find fabric but you will find all the things that can help you succeed.

Do not go here! They will scam you.

I thought my sewing machine was broken so I brought it to Apparel City, turns out all it needed was to be plugged into a voltage converter because it was purchased in another country. My bad for not knowing this, but instead of them telling me this, they "serviced" the machine, and then charged me $70.

When I called to ask what was wrong with it they just said it needed to be fixed. Then when I brought the machine home to use it and it still wouldn't work, I called back and asked if it had something to do with the voltage, only then did they say that it needed a converter...

They will not give me my money back even though they charged me for a service that was not needed.

Have not checked out the new location but frequented this store when it was located in S.F. If you're a serious/professional sewer, tailor or need an industrial sewing machine, forget scouring Craig's list for machines and visit this store.

I've read the reviews on how unprofessional the people are who run the store. They're not rude, just Asian who can seem to be very rude but that's just their way . . . unappologetically honest. There's no icing on the cake, just cake. Check them out and buy something . They have it all.

Came to purchase a few materials for class. Upon arriving I was already so nervous about having to find a shopping list full of specific items by myself. Noob stats. So I hope you could only imagine how happy I was to find the woman behind the counter to be so helpful!!!! Went through my list one by one and she helped w selections and even eliminating a few to find else where - Cus they're a bit pricey. But do-able for the majority part. Will come again throughout my courses. Do they have student discounts? That would be awesome

This place is AMAZING. Well, if you know what you want...

Apparel City is a great place for scissors, getting your serger or industrial machine serviced, thread, zippers, marker paper, bobbins, needles, you name it, they've got it. The only problem is, you have to KNOW what you want. Everything they've got is in the back hiding in drawers of cabinets of some sort.

This place is THE place to pick up all your commercial and serger needs. It's WAY harder to find home sewing accoutrements here. In terms of price, they are reasonable, if not cheap. Some other sewing machine shop tried to charge me $28 for a bobbin case! But the guy didn't have my bobbins so I came here and bought a notcher, 3 bobbin cases, 12 bobbins, and a french curve for LESS than $28. GO FIGURE.

The moral to the story? Make a (detailed w/ model #s) list of stuff you need for your sewing needs. Take it to Apparel City and you won't be disappointed.

This is one of the best most professional (in parts and accessories) sewing shop in the city. They know their stuff. I just wish they had stuff in centimeters as well. Kinda pricy though but the the women (who u had most of my contact with) were very nice and helpful.

Juki DNU1541S for $1,650.00 with only 90 days of warranty does not sound appealing to any customer, and $70 dollars an hour for servicing it neither.
