I have had a storage space at Attic for more than 10 years. Last week, I accidently paid online for many more months than I meant to. I called Matt in a panic and he was SO kind. He called his boss Steve and they took time out of their days to fix everything. The space itself is great, but the service is why I stay. Thanks very much, guys! I'll probably never move out.

At first the guy behind the counter literally threw the contract at me. I was startled and started to wonder whether I had made a mistake renting here. But as it turned out, it was cool. He's just careless about first impressions and interactions were fairly smooth after that.

This place doesn't look great. It's not new. It has an alcatraz feel to it. But it really does provide me good value and a decent storage unit.

You'll appreciate that there's has a real loading dock, and carts and dollies on loan that are bigger, have more capacity, and are more stable than what you might already own. I didn't use their carts because I didn't know about them. Now we both know.

I think it's possible that this business is actually serious about good value, fair practices, and decency, in which case its an outlier in the marketplace.

Very easy process. I made an entry mistake on the online application and they quickly made an adjustment for the driver without hassle. I really appreciate a business such as this.

Go see Stephen! I can't say enough good things about him. Took EXCELLENT care with our storage. Now the neck of the woods Attic is in is questionable, maybe 1 star. However everything else is a Hot FIVE stars! Super convenient, super nice people too!!! Alarmed, parking lot, storage. Now you know!!

Tried a few storage places around SF. The staff here are really helpful and the individual alarm system is piece of mind against theft. Opening hours could be a little later but that's minor compared to issues I found at other places (people living in units, staff locking units without notification to customers).

Best self-storage unit!! Clean facility, huge freight elevator, lots of moving dolleys and most importantly ample parking around, outside, and inside the building. (I usually pull my mini-SUV inside the building to unload/load up my car. The dolleys and the elevators are right next to the parking spaces inside.

Also, for those who care, I did a lot of research on storage facilities before I made my choice and the building was built back in the day and was not damaged at all in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.

My partner came in yesterday to inquire about renting a space and told me the owner was extremely nice but that I would have to come by the next day to fulfill the rental.

I showed up today a little before 4 and the owner was extremely nice as I expected. He told me he would show me the unit and then... For reasons I don't understand, he began accusing my partner of not telling me that rentals don't start after 4pm. When I pointed out that it wasn't 4pm yet he told me that all the clocks were wrong and that I would have to come in another day. I showed him my phone with the time and he said "that's very good for you!" and waved me out condescendingly.

No store owner should ever treat anyone like that the other customers present were just stunned and silent.

I walked down the street to Extra Space where I was told a number of customers have experienced that at Attic.

Hours are horrible. I swear they used to be open until 6:30pm on weekdays but now it's 5:30? Now requires taking time off work just to get anything out. Be advised these shitty hours will inevitably cause you grief.

I went with a friend to pick up some stuff she's borrowing at 230pm on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving only to find THE WHOLE PLACE CLOSED & LOCKED UP. I checked their website but it says nothing about any changes to their hours for the holiday. NOTHING!!
Seems like their employees decided they could lock up and leave a few hours early for some free time off with pay and no one would be the wiser.

I've had my locker there for over ten years and it's been an uneventful ten years. But this is just not acceptable. The first item on my to-do list for after the holidays is to find a new place to store my shit.

I stored my belonging here for about 3 yrs while I was traveling around the world on business. Occasionally back for short bouts to visit SF again, and would stop by to exchange my wardrobe depending on the weather.
Every point of dealing with this family run small business was a pleasure. They were helpful from beginning to end.
I support small, local business for many reasons. One of the big reasons is that they are usually run more personably and offer better service overall. This place is no exception.
I'm back for a long while now, and have a home in which to keep my belongings for the time being. But should I ever need storage again, I wouldn't hesitate to use these guys n gals once more.
      I highly recommend them.
